Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress, is known for her work in film and on television since the mid 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of awards, including two Golden Globe Awards, and sixteen NAACP Image Award. Since the late 80s, Angela Evelyn has worked on film and television. The actress has won numerous awards including sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and was raised by her aunt living in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett, her sister and their mother moved from the city of Winston-Salem to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. Their father split from the mother of their children. While in high school Bassett watched John Steinbeck's drama Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. Following her graduation of Yale University New Haven Connecticut in the year 1980, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in African American Studies, she went on to earn a Master's Degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. She was introduced to Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. the Yale School of Drama conferred the degree of Master of Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett in the year 1980. She was a student at the institutions that she attended: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for students in 7th grade, Azalea Middle School for the 8th and 9th grade in addition to Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her lead parts, Ramonda, in the action adventure film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
